A Few Of My Favourite Things

I’m mixing it up today and sharing a few of my favourite (wedding related) things! After many years of wedding planning and designing, I’ve definitely honed in on my style and what I like. I love that all the weddings we have had the honour of planning are vastly unique and different, but have that special Blush + Bowties feel. So here we go! Here are a few of my top wedding things that float my boat (P.S all of these images are from our past weddings.)

Mirage Chairs

I know this might sound dull, but I love sourcing and selecting the perfect chair for my clients. The days of chair covers have likely traumatized me to the point where I can’t help but express my passion on how far a nice chair really goes. I love all sort of styles of chairs, but none has my heart like the minimalist mirage chair.

Textured Linens

I’m amping up the excitement level here and talking about linens; I live a simple existence, don’t judge. But I truly feel a nice, naturally textured linen creates a warm and approachable vibe. From runners, to napkins to full tablecloths - don’t be afraid to swap out that traditional shiny satin for a more natural texture.

Ceramic Touches

I simply adore including marker quality items in my tablescape designs. As you’ve probably guessed so far, I love a natural and simple aesthetic. Give me a stone charger with a slightly irregular shape and flecked texture, and you’ll make me a happy woman. Add in a matte ceramic candle holder - well . . . . I’ll be your friend forever!

Venues with Character

“Celebrations with Character” has become the underlining philosophy of a Blush & Bowties wedding - so it’s no surprise we love venues with a unique vibe as well. Banquet halls just aren’t my jam (not saying there is anything wrong with them, it’s just not something I’m into personally). I love venues with tons of light, brick walls, wooden floors, loft windows, crown moulding, interesting textures and history! When it comes to venues, anything with character has my vote!

Natural and Unstructured Flowers

If you follow Blush & Bowties on instagram, you’ll discover quite quickly I am obsessed with flowers! I love love love flowers. As I go on my 7th year of planning, my admiration for flowers has only strengthened. I’ve seen the difference hiring a really exceptional and talented florist can make. You won’t find any basketball shaped rose monstrosities on my watch (clearly I have some strong feelings about this subject)! I am an avid supporter of natural and unstructured florals.
